Van Jones & Shari Redstone Host 100+ National Leaders in Miami for Historic Black-Jewish Alliance Convening
The first national gathering of its kind in more than 25 years. Rekindle Fellowship was part of the convening ecosystem.
June 1, 2026 — TV personality Van Jones and media executive Shari Redstone joined more than 100 leaders across the United States in Miami for the National Convening on the Black-Jewish Alliance.
Hosted by the Exodus Leadership Forum and Redstone Family Foundation, the convening brought together clergy, organizers, artists, philanthropists, educators, and civic leaders to confront rising antisemitism and racism and shape a shared national strategy for Black-Jewish partnership.
The gathering produced a draft National Strategy for Black and Jewish Partnership organized around five pillars: Promoting Awareness & Historical Understanding, Deepening Relationships & Building Trust, Shaping a Public Narrative, Coordinating Efforts Across the Field, and Expanding Partnerships for Collective Advocacy.
Organizers plan for the convening to become an annual gathering. Rekindle Fellowship — which runs structured Black-Jewish fellowship cohorts in 23 US cities including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Brooklyn, Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Greater Hartford, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans, Omaha, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Rochester NY, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington DC, and Austin — was part of the convening ecosystem.
